Microsoft Windows Blue

Putting an end to long standing trend of releasing a major OS upgrade every 3 years, Microsoft is set to release "Windows Blue" later this year.

The update aims to make Windows 8 more compatible with smaller screens, thereby capture the tablet and phablet market space. The mobility scenario today is dependent on size of the device, display, battery life and performance. Windows Blue will be primarily look to optimize windows 8 for the mobile platforms. This disruptive OS Upgrade trend shows that Microsoft wants to aggressively compete with the growing market share of Google Android powered devices.

Further updates regarding Windows Blue are expected in a few weeks time.

The Amazing New SmartPhone - Lenovo K900 with Intel Atom Processor

Its been a while since the announcement of K900 by Lenovo at CES in January.

The K900, a high-end, big-screen smartphone aimed at the Chinese and Indian market where the Mobile Giants Samsung and Apple have initiated a price war in the high end Smart Phone market.

Needless to say, K900 is a dual-core, Intel-powered beast. At 5.5 inches diagonally, the K900 dwarfs even the Galaxy Note 2, and the latest Galaxy IV and like other devices in this space. The overall design is attractive enough, with a metallic chassis and squared-off edges. On the front is a 1080p display, which looks about as sharp and clear as you'd expect. On the inside, Intel's Clovertrail+ -- a dual-core, HyperThreaded CPU -- provides enough horsepower to keep things running smoothly, and around the back is a 13MP Sony Exmor R camera with f/1.8 aperture. K900 is also incredibly sleek for the specifications if offers.

The K900 is running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, along with Lenovo's own software layer software, and although it's great to see 4.2 finally rolling out to devices, the manufacturer's UI customizations leave something to be desired.

Lenovo is a relative newcomer to the smartphone market, and like many in the early days, they're doing better in terms of hardware than they are software. So the likes of Samsung, Apple, Blackberry, Nokia must definitely keep an eye on the "Strong Chinese Contender"!

The phone is expected to be available in the market from May 10th, 2013.
